Sew Easy: Paper Circle Garland

I started making these a few years ago as a way to use the scrap paper from paper party crafting and now it's one of my favorite party decorations~!

A paper garland is a great and inexpensive way to incorporate your color or theme and can be used almost anywhere to decorate a party. I've hung these on gift tables, doorways, or railings, but they would also be super cute as a photo back drop.

All you need to make your own paper circle garland is a circle punch and coordinating paper (scraps will do just fine) and a sewing machine! Start by cutting as many circles as you can, the number you'll need depends on where you want to place the garland.

Once you have them all cut out feed them through your sewing machine using a coordinating thread. For this garland I just did one at a time, but you could put two circles back to back before feeding it through the machine to make a reversible garland.

Keep sewing and sewing until you've reached your desired length! For this nautical themed party I also incorporated a few other paper cutouts. How easy (and cute!) is that?!

Personalized Planner with Duct Tape!

I LOVE planners. There is just something about being organized and using a planner helps me keep my important dates (and papers) straight!

I've been using this planner for quite some time, but I've been thinking of ways to personalize it (we all know I also LOVE monograms). I debated about trying a vinyl cut out, but figured it wouldn't hold up well on the outside of my planner that is always thrown in my purse.

So I figured I'd give duct tape a try. Michael's carries a variety of fun duct tape colors and patterns in 8 x 11 sheets that I fed through my silhouette machine just like I would have vinyl.

Here is the final result, duct tape is so much tougher than regular vinyl and I love the texture. I'm hoping this will hold up to the wear and tear!

Halloween Decor: World Market Web Runner Knock Off

Recently my mom and I made a trip to Cost Plus World Market and admired this darling felt cobweb runner. At $20 I was tempted, but it was a little too pricey considering I didn't really have a place to put it.

The next day I was glad I had passed it up when I happened upon these felt cobwebs at The Dollar Tree. I made a knock off runner by stitching three of these together. It literally took 30 seconds and $3 is sooo much better than $20!

The best part? You could customize this runner by making it as long (or short) as you need!
