Bookcase Makeover

At the same storage auction my husband found this great cabinet/bookcase:
As you can tell it was put to use on our garage until I had time to give it a fresh coat of paint. This cabinet was perfect to hide away my sewing machine and serger and store other items I use frequently. After a good scrub down and MANY coats of primer and paint, this guy found a new home inside:
I primed and painted the cabinet and existing hinges and added some cute knobs from Michaels. At $2.00 each I couldn't go wrong with these....
Now all I needed was some organizational pieces for the open shelves. I found this old oak CD case at Goodwill for $0.99:

I pried out the plastic pieces and gave it a good coat of paint. Taped off a small section and added some chalkboard paint so I could use it to hold all my acrylic paints. It turned out like this:
You would think that is all the furniture our little mud room could hold........but I have a few more projects before the whole room reveal! More to come soon...
