Magnetic Refrigerator Organizer

I finished up a quick and easy project I just had to share! I've been wanting a whiteboard/calendar in our kitchen, but with our new fancy refrigerator I wanted something simple without having to clutter up the kitchen.

I posted about my cubicle makeover where I made this simple whiteboard and I figured I would make a similar version for our kitchen.

I started with a large frame (which I painted white), assorted scrapbook paper, and a blank calendar printed from Word.

I covered the cardboard frame backing with 2 pieces of scrapbook paper.

I trimed the calendar edges and mounted it on a piece of scrapbook paper.

Then I cut out a few different sized pieces of paper to use as note pads at the bottom. Originally I was going to put titles on each of them like "Birthdays", "Groceries", and "To Do" but I decided to leave them blank so I could use them for whatever purpose suited at the time. I'll just write in the title with my whiteboard pen.

Clean the glass and assemble the frame and you have an easy white board!

I attached several extra strength magnets on the back with hot glue so it would stay up on my fridge and now I have a great place to keep track of birthdays and things we need!

  1. What an excellent idea! I might have to use your idea once my brand spankin' new fridge is delivered in a few weeks. :)

  2. This looks fabulous! I would love to feature this project on my blog. Let me know if you are interested and I will get all the details to you! Thanks for linking up to our party!

  3. Silly question, but then this means that regular dry-erase markers are good to go on the glass for easy removal? This is such a great idea!

  4. This turned out great! I like that it has so many different places for things.

  5. This is really cute! If you get a chance, I'd love to have you link up to my party at Thanks for sharing!

  6. What size frame did you use for that? I want to make one. How perfect.

  7. What a great idea! I do have a question though - will the extra strength magnets scratch up the stainless steel finish on the fridge?

  8. Tanya: My frame is 11 x 21 but you could customize the calendar to fit any size you need!

Steph: I wouldn't trust it on the stainless because I'm sure it would scratch if it slipped. I keep mine on the gray (rubber?) side so I don't have to worry.

  9. There are many ways to go about organizing your kitchen accessory. Different methods make more sense depending on your space and what you’re storing. No matter which method you choose, these magnetic organizer definitely helps you to reduce the space usage and clutter.
Thank you for posting. This will be great for our family!

  10. There can be nothing better than finding all your things at a single place. This idea of using the magnetic organizer is great. Keep sharing more ideas.
